Here at Unique Speech Services, we value education and personal connection. Our entire program is built to the highest standards to educate assistants and ensure once you are done with your hours, you feel confident and competent going out and practicing.
We have a full observation enrichment program which includes videos with documents to walk you through the lesson planning, therapy execution, data collection, behavior management, and documentation. This prepares you for when you start seeing clients of your own during your clinical hours.
You have the option to participate in the observation program at your discretion. So even if you don't need them for your license, you are more than welcome to complete them while waiting on your license to be approved by the state.
Once your license has been approved by the state, you are able to start your clinical hours. The week following your license approval will consist of obtaining your log in for our documentation system so you can complete chart reviews. We will also confirm our therapy schedule so we can send it out to the families. You will lesson plan during that first week so you are ready to see clients on your first day.
We are located in Fort Worth, Texas.
We see clients both in person and via tele-therapy.
We have a wide range of ages from pediatrics to adults.
We offer therapy based on the assistant's schedule. So typically our assistants do 2 days a week for 2 weeks so there is time between each day to lesson plan, etc. However, if you are working full time, we have also completed Parent's Day Out programs on Saturday so you don't have to take time off.
If for some reason we need to complete the hours in one week, we can also arrange that.
Our program at Unique Speech Services is carefully crafted to suite the needs of each individual assistant that comes through our doors.
Since our focus is on educating assistants, we are not hiring assistants right now. If we choose to take that route, you will be able to complete the clinical enrichment program free of charge. You should never have to pay for training to get a job.
All of our assistants that graduate from our program are able to find a job on average within 2-3 weeks. The average base pay for our assistants that have graduated our program is $29/session with full benefits (PTO, insurance, car allowance, etc).
Assistants need to be taken seriously in this field and to do so, you have to know your value. I am more than happy to walk you through job interviews and job offers. An assistant should never accept anything under $25/visit with full benefits.
You will have access to a vast library of both electronic and in person materials.
During the program, you will receive our therapy box which has materials you can take home and use to lesson plan between therapy days. You turn the therapy box back in at the end of your program.
If you are completing your hours through teletherapy, then you will receive a therapy box specific for teletherapy which includes a green screen and green screen materials. You turn this back in at the end of your program.
You receive a therapy notebook, nicknamed the "paperclip" binder. You'll hear throughout your career, you should be able to do therapy with a paperclip! While it's true you don't need the latest and greatest toys or games, it is helpful to have targets to easily reference. When you are put on the spot to remember words that have a "p" in initial, medial, and final positions- your mind goes blank!
You also receive a USB with materials which is valued over $700. This jump drive will be essential when you get your first job and have things to easily pull from.
Upon receiving your hours, you will receive two recommendation letters that reflects your strengths as a new therapist. Recommendation letters are customized for the speech pathology field.
Your recommendation letter will cover the following: background, work ethic, documentation, lesson planning, therapy execution, recommendation.
I am also available to complete electronic referrals for future jobs and/or graduate school.
*Recommendation letters will reflect your current abilities.
Graduates of our Clinical Hour Program will receive a lifetime subscription to our CEUs.
